Ever Wonder Why?

January 12, 2026

Life is full of questions. As parents and teachers know, kids ask hundreds every day. Meanwhile the average adult asks twenty to thirty. From serious questions like, “What profession should I pursue?” Or “How can I be a better person?” To trivial matters like, “What is the furthest a person has ever run without stopping?” And, “How many lunar phases are there?”

There are the daily questions like, “What should I wear today?” or, “What route should I take to work?” to perhaps the most nagging of all, “What’s for dinner?”

Kidding aside, life is full of questions. They help us explore, learn, grow and connect.

And perhaps the most important, and also the most vexing, are the why questions.

Why am I here? Why do I long for something greater in life? Why do bad things happen to good people?

Sometimes, in the shuffle of life, these questions fall to the wayside. But they are incredibly important and they aren't ignored by God. Rather, the Bible addresses the deepest longings and questions of the human heart in real ways.
