God & Money

November 10, 2025

The most common question people ask about money is, “How can I get more of it?” But maybe the better question is, “What does God think about it?”

Thankfully, Jesus talked about money a lot. He mentioned it in 11 of his 39 parables—often using money as an ordinary example to teach extraordinary spiritual truths. It wasn’t because Jesus was trying to teach financial literacy or help people build better budgets. It was because he cared deeply about the heart behind how we use money. He knew how easily it could become an idol we serve and worship instead of God. Jesus warned his disciples that the love of money could be a stumbling block that keeps us from loving God and our neighbor.

For Jesus, our relationship with money isn’t just a fiscal issue. It’s a spiritual one. It shapes how we live as his followers.

In this sermon series, we’ll look at four stories from the Gospel of Luke to explore some of Jesus’ most challenging and transformative teachings on money. Our hope is that as we hear Jesus’ words, we’ll discover a healthier, more faithful understanding of both God and money. We invite you to join us as we open the Gospel of Luke together.
