All Church Meeting & One Service Sunday November 1st at 9:15
Mark your calendars! On November 1st we will all join together at the Cedar Canyon campus for one service at 9:15am, followed by a carry-in brunch.

Have you ever lost something really valuable? A beloved pet, a favorite hoodie, your car keys (always when you’re already running late), or a cell phone? We all understand the frustration, the angst, and the intense desire to find what has been lost.
In Luke 15, we find that Jesus used this common experience to describe how God feels about lost people. You see, many known sinners were flocking to Jesus. They were eating with him and inviting him to their parties. The religious teachers saw this and grumbled, since it seemed to them that Jesus was condoning their sinful behavior. Jesus responded to their criticism with 3 parables about a sheep, a coin and a son.
Each parable features a common pattern. First, something is lost, and what is lost is highly desired and sought after. In each, what is lost is found and there is celebration and rejoicing that ensues. Jesus used this pattern to show how much God cares about those who have wandered from him, and just how far he will go to get them back. This is wonderful news for all of us, since we’ve all wandered from God through our sin. We’ve all been lost. But in Jesus, we are found.
This September, we will be taking three weeks to look at each of these parables. We’ll see how each shows us how much God loves and cares for us, and how he wants us to feel the same about the lost people around us.
